Local Villages

There are lots of interesting villages in the eastern part of the AONB, many of which have links with the areas monastic past  -  Kirkby Malzeard, Grewelthorpe, Galphay, Grantley, Laverton, Sawley and Winksley.

Kirkby Malzeard is the starting point of a new AONB pub walk and is an area steeped in history. The walk will guide you around castles, churches and ancient townships helping you to uncover hidden mysteries and local tales.
