Brimham Rocks

Brimham Rocks are around 320 million years old. Scattered over 50 acres on Brimham Moor, individual rocks have been given names like the bear, the sphinx and the anvil. The curiously shaped rocks are in fact sandstone tors formed by erosion during the ice age.

At a height of nearly 300m, Brimham Rocks enjoy spectacular views over the surrounding countryside is rich in wildlife. Owned by the National Trust, Brimham is the perfect place for a day out. Have a picnic, go walking round the rocks or for those more adventurous and who have their own equipment - go climbing.

If you would like to learn more about the rocks, visit Brimham House where there is a free exhibition of geological and social history, and a kiosk for refreshments.
