How Stean Gorge

How Stean Gorge or Little Switzerland as it is sometimes called, is a popular visitor attraction situated near the village of Lofthouse. It is a spectacular 80-foot deep limestone gorge that can be explored via a network of narrow paths and footbridges.

Why not walk beside How Stean Beck with its plunging waterfalls, before heading across to Middlesmoor with its spectacular panorama down the Nidderdale valley, and finish off with some refreshments?

More adventurous visitors can explore "Tom Taylor's Cave" which takes you deep underground, or tackle the Via Ferrata course - an aerial network of beams, ladders and cables.

There is also a tearoom, shop, toilets, cycle hire and a campsite.
