visitors an unmissable opportunity to explore the great
outdoors. By leaving the car behind and exploring
the AONB on foot, horse back or on a bicycle you can get away
from the crowds and soak up the tranquility of this unspoilt and
still largely undiscovered area.

The AONB is definitely 'off the beaten track'. Its countryside
has had its devotees for hundreds of years of course, but this is
not guidebook territory and a sense of discovery will accompany you
wherever you go. Local people are justly proud of the wildlife and
heritage of the area and have helped to produce detailed
information for visitors that are designed to help you appreciate
the environment of the AONB. Some of their work is reproduced in
leaflets you can download from this website - they will help you to
get under the skin of the landscape!
