Nidderdale AONB is definitely 'off the beaten track'. Its countryside has had its devotees for hundreds of years, but this is not guidebook territory and a sense of discovery will accompany you wherever you go. Stunning views and dramatic scenery offer visitors an unmissable opportunity to explore the great outdoors. By leaving the car behind and exploring the AONB on foot, horse back or on a bicycle you can get away from the crowds and soak up the tranquility of this unspoilt and still largely undiscovered area. Local people are justly proud of the wildlife and heritage of the area and have helped to produce detailed information for visitors that is designed to help you appreciate the environment of the AONB.
